Unmanned Drones Force Terrorism
Yesterday I was digging, as I do every day, and ran across this article. Not a great article and it brings up nothing new or interesting but it reminded me of a thought I had many years ago; if you take soldiers out of combat then the enemy is forced to fight taxpayers and scientists. If U.S. soldiers are on a base in Nevada, yet still killing people, then the people being killed will have to strike at our economic and scientific base in order to fight back. In short, unmanned drones not only encourage terrorism but they force the enemies of the U.S. to use terrorist tactics and attack us at home.
Technical advancements in warfare are nothing new; from karate to swords to Greek fire to tanks, armies with superior technology hold an advantage. The drone method of fighting is something entirely different though as it manages to completely remove a soldier from combat. Yes, a tank shields the soldier and is only possible due to tax payers and scientists but a tank is not invulnerable to attack. This was seen last summer when Lebanese freedom fighters managed to overtake an Israeli tank.
With a drone there is no enemy outside of finances, technology and popular opinion. The type of attacks we experienced on 9/11/01 are the exact kind of attacks that the use of predator drones justify. They were attacks on our economic and military structure, not true terrorism. True terrorism would be aimed at schools, malls, sporting events, etc. Multiple locations outside of the largest cities, that would indeed terrorize this country. Thankfully the enemies of the U.S. either don't have the means or the lack of morals to carry out real terrorism.
I'm not going to get into this as much as I'd like since I fear the modern day Brown Shirts kicking in my door and taking me off for reeducation. I'd also like to state I don't support "terrorism", especially against the U.S., thats where I keep all my stuff. It comes down to this; when you remove the soldier from the war then the taxpayer becomes the soldier and therefore a legitimate military target. Remember to sign my petition to halt the use of unmanned drones in order to preserve our liberty.*

*or you could get together with your hippie friends and wave some signs around. Both work equally well.
